The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a villager on the charges of firing, attempting to murder, and criminal conspiracy.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh said that the accused has been Sunil Kumar alias Katta son of Bittu a resident of Singh Pur Dona village.
Sharan Deep a resident of Nawan Pind village under Sadar Kapurthala police station had complained to the police that he along with his companions were going to Seham village on August 27 late evening when the accused armed with firearms and sharp-edged weapons attacked them with the intention to kill and seriously injured them.
DSP said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons) 341(wrong full restraint) 506(criminal; intimidation) 148 and 149(rioting) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused and section 201(causing disappearance of evidence of offense, ) was added in the FIR.
DSP said the accused is wanted in another case of attempt to murder registered in 2021.
