The total purchase of paddy by the state government and private agencies from farmers crossed 1685849 lakhs quintals on Wednesday which is nearly equal to last year’s purchase of 1696536 lakhs quintals on this day in grain markets under the jurisdiction of the Shahkot market committee.
Shahkot Sub Divisional Magistrate Rishabh Bansal and Committee Secretary Tejindar Kumar said that paddy arrival is only 10687 quintals less than last year's arrival adding we will achieve the target of paddy purchase in the coming few days.
They said that 97.07 percent of purchased paddy has been lifted from grain markets.
