NAKODAR
The Nakodar Sadar police have booked five persons on the charge of assaulting a businessman.
Investigating officer (IO) Jasvir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Charanjit alias Chani son of Amarjit a resident of Chania village and his four unidentified accomplices.
Mandeep Singh son of Gurmail Singh a resident of Chania village complained to the police that Chani and his five accomplices had assaulted and looted him in July 2023 and a case under different sections was registered.
The complainant said the accused directly and indirectly threatened him and on November 18 Chani and his four unidentified accomplices waylaid attacked and injured him and threatened him with dire consequences.
Investigating officer Jasvir Singh said a case under sections 323, (voluntarily causing hurt) 341(wrongful restraint) 506(criminal intimidation), and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
