Harmanbir Singh Gill, IPS has taken over as SSP Bathinda on Tuesday.
He has earlier been serving as SSP Moga and Muktsar Sahib.
He was given an honour of guard by a police party on the occasion.
"I am committed to eliminate drugs and gangsters' networks and further appeal to the people to assist the district police to meet its targets. The Punjab government led by Bhagwant Mann has specially run a drive to make Punjab drug and gangsters free, ensuring law and order," said Gill taking over as district chief.
