The Nakodar city police have booked three persons including a woman on the charges of fraud and criminal conspiracy.
Station House Officer (SHO) Satpal Singh Sidhu said that the accused have been identified as Sarabjit Kaur wife of Karanjit Singh a resident of Mehat Pur Road ,Bangharr Niwas, Mohalla Ravidass Pura, Nakodar, Shiv Kumar son of Murari Lala a resident of New Aadarsh Nagar Shankar Road Nakodar and Mohan Singh son of Kartar Singh Mohalla Kalian, ward no 14, Nakodar.
Bikram Singh a resident of Chitti village in Jalandhar complained to the Jalandhar(rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that he holds general power of attorney of NRI (UK)Piara Singh and a native of Gurre village.
The complainant said NRI is the owner of the house in Mohalla Ravidass Pura and accused Shiv Kumar of having a friendly relationship with NRI and using the house for his personal interests.
Bikram Singh said that Shiv Kumar had illicit relations with accused Sarabjit Kaur and was able to get the first floor of the house on rent in the name of Sarbjit Kaur in 2010 by pursuing NRI.
The complainant said that both accused hatched a conspiracy to encroach house and used all unfair means to achieve their aim and prepared fake documents of agreement and sale deed and even filed civil suits and illegally encroached house of NRI and sought legal action against the three accused.
SSP ordered an inquiry by D.S.P. (Special Crime) who found all allegations levelled against the accused correct and recommended the registration of a criminal case against the accused.
SHO said that SSP ordered the registration of a case and a case under sections.420(cheating) 465,468, 471(fraud),458(lurking house-trespass), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code have been registered against the accused.
