The Shahkot police have booked a villager woman on the charge of outraging her modesty.
Investigating Officer (IO) Sarwann Singh said that the accused has been identified as Amrit Pal alias Sanni son of Gurmej a resident of Parjian Khurd village.
Amrita wife of Sanjiv Kumar a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused barged into her house on November 7 attacked her and her husband with a sharp-edged weapon and tore her clothes and dragged her.
IO said that a case under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty,) 452(house trespass) 323(voluntarily causing hurt ), and 148( rioting, with a deadly weapon ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrest has been made and raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
