With the food grain agencies having already purchased 1025290 MT paddy across all 81-grain markets, the smooth and hassle-free procurement season has reached near completion in Jalandhar.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that 10.58 lakh MT paddy was expected to be procured in the ongoing Kharif marketing season of which 10.25 lakh MT paddy had also been purchased. He said that payments worth 2083 crore had already been paid to farmers on time. He said that farmers would not face any kind of hurdle in selling their grains.
Pun grain had procured 383742-MT paddy, 283105-MT by Mark fed, 258839-MT by Pun sup, 97337-MT Punjab warehouse, and 2226-MT by private traders.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration had made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the harvest of farmers was lifted from the grain markets in a smooth, timely, and hassle-free manner.
