Four of  family  booked for cheating, conspiracy

 

SHAHKOT

The Shahkot police have booked four members, including two women, on the charges of cheating and breach of trust.

Investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post in-charge Dinesh Kumar that the accused have been identified as Sarbann Singh son of Mehar Singh a resident of Sohal Jagir village his son Prem Singh a resident of Sohal Jagir village, his daughter-in-law Manjinder Kaur and granddaughter Ramandeep Kaur,

 Kulwinder Singh a resident of Pati Haveli,Malsian village, and sub-inspector in Punjab police complained to the senior superintendent of police in Jalandhar (rural) that he had solemnized his son Lovpreet Singh's marriage with Ramandeep Kaur on the promise of his migration to Canada and paid Rs 29.98500 to the accused. But Ramandeep Kaur did not file an application for his son’s permanent settlement in Canada and thus all four cheated him.

 

IO said that a case under sections 406 (breach of trust) 420(cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
