The Mehat Pur police have arrested a thief on the charge of stealing paddy from the Mahat Pur grain market.
Investigating officer (IO) Jaspal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Sarup Singh alias Jagrup Singh son of Dalip Singh a resident of Baghela village.
Nirmal Singh, a resident of Pachharrian village complained to the police that the accused stole 4 bags (weighing 37 Kilograms each) from Mehat Pur grain market.
IO said that a case under sections 379(theft) and 411(dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and recovered four bags of stolen paddy.
