The Nakodar Sadar police have booked a Canter driver on charges of causing death by negligence, causing grievous hurt by act endangering the life or personal safety of others, rash driving on the public road, and mischief.
Investigating Officer (IO) Amrik Singh said the accused has been identified as Jit Singh son of Chamel Singh a resident of Dela Rajouri village in Jammu.
Sonia wife of Jenas Hairan village complained to the police that the accused was driving his vehicle fast and negligently on November 11 and hit her father Masih’s rikshaw and killed him near bus stand Kang Sahibu.
IO said that a case under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence), 279 (rash driving on public roads) 337and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), and 427 (mischief) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
