The Mehat Pur police have arrested four members of the in-law’s family in a dowry harassment case.
Investigating officer (IO) Gurnam Singh said that the accused have been identified as Kashmir Singh a resident of Kang Wale Bilie village wife Manjit Kaur son Sucha Singh and daughter-in-law Supreet Kaur
Complainant Gurpreet Kaur daughter of Joga Singh and a resident of Anga Kirri in Nakodar village had filed a complaint to the senior superintendent of police, Jalandhar (rural), that her father––-law, mother-in-law, brother in law and sister-law had been harassing her and demanding more and more dowry since her marriage in 2020. And threw her out from their house
IO said a case under sections 406 (breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the IPC was registered against the accused and Lakhwinder Singh husband of the complainant who is absconding.
