The Shahkot police have arrested three persons including a woman on the charges of murdering a Shahkot villager.
Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narinder Singh Aujla said that the accused has been identified as Mandeep Kaur alias Aman wife of the deceased Suraj. her paramour Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi a resident of Said Pur Jirri village and Joban Preet Singh a resident of Killi village.
DSP said Aman told the police during interrogation that her marriage was solemnized with Suraj in 2010 who was a drunkard and used to beat her.
Aman said that she developed intimate relations with the accused Gopi, and both hatched a conspiracy to murder Suraj.
She said her husband was murdered on Sunday night at 11 p.m. by Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, his accomplices Joban Preet, and Harjinder Singh a resident of Jagral village under Jamsher Sadar police station adding that Suraj was hit with sharp-edged weapons on his head who died on the spot.
Ajay Kumar brother of the deceased has complained to the police that he went to the house of Suraj on Monday morning and found him murdered and the body was lying on his cot. He said in his complaint that his brother was murdered by hitting on his head and his room was drenched with his blood.
DSP said that a case under section (302) of the IPC was registered against the accused.
