The Shahkot police have booked unidentified persons on the charges of murdering a Shahkot villager.
Station House Officer (SHO) Jaswinder Singh said that the deceased has been identified as Suraj alias John a resident of Mienye Wal Moulvian village.
Ajay Kumar brother of the deceased complained to the police that he went to the house of Suraj on Monday morning and found him murdered and the body was lying on his cot. He said in his complaint that his brother was murdered by hitting on his head and his room was drenched with his blood.
SHO said that the deceased was all alone when he was murdered as his wife and children had gone outside.
SHO said that a case under section (302) of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified accused and the services of the dog squad have been put into operation and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
