The Bilga police have booked two unidentified miscreants on the charges of attempt to murder and firing.
Lakhjeet Singh (60) son of Bishan Singh a resident of Pati Bhati Bilga village complained to the police that he was sitting at his bore-well on the Bilga-Sham Pur link road on November 4 evening when two young miscreants riding a motorcycle came there and one asked him about Sukha’s land whether combine is working.
He said that he told the accused that there was no combine and check across the canal when the accused opened fire from his pistol. Lakh Jeet said gunfire his back behind the neck. He said the second gunfire that passed near him.
Lakhjeet said he ran away to save himself when the accused fired a third round of gunfire which pierced his right-hand thumb, he raised the alarm and the accused ran away adding that his neibhourer rushed him to Nurmahal Hospital from where he was referred to Jalandhar Civil Hospital
Station house officer Mohinder Pal said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) and 34(committing a crime with common intention) and section 25 /27/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the unidentified accused and recovered two empty and one live cartridge from the spot.
