Senior officials conduct field visits to check stubble-burning cases; use Fire brigade services to put off fires.

 

 


JALANDHAR /NAKODAR
Senior officials of the district administration on Saturday evening conducted a field visit to personally check stubble burning cases, especially in the hotspot areas of Nakodar, Bhogpur and Phillaur.

As the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Vishesh Sarangal appointed ADCs as nodal officers for Nakodar, Shahkot, and Phillaur subdivisions to keep a check on stubble burning besides encouraging farmers to use the services of machinery given on subsidy for residue management, the officials have been working in fields from last 3 days regularly.

Meanwhile, ADC (D) Varinder pal Singh Bajwa has visited the villages in the Nakodar area and urged the farmers to bring residue to Energy saving plant at village Bir Pind village has the capacity to dispose of 70 MT daily to generate 6 MW of electricity.

He said that the farmers can contact Agricultural Extension Officer ( AEO) Mahinder Singh on mobile number 78892-35735 to obtain services of 44 bailors running in the Nakodar subdivision.

He also presided over a meeting with the cluster officer, and nodal officers at the village level and instructed them to visit the field on a daily basis .

While visiting the villages of Shah Slampur and Shahpur, ADC Bajwa called the fire brigade to put off the stubble burning in fields besides ordering strict action against the norms violators.

Besides that in the villages of Bhogpur area, SDM Balbir Raj has visited the Malian, Dhirpur , Kudowal, Chak Mahmadpur and urged the farmers to bring stubble to Bhogpur Sugar Mill So that it could be used to generate electricity.
