Faridkot based agent, now allegedly settled abroad, has been booked for cheating of Rs 16 and 6.45 lakh respectively in two separate cases.
In the first case, the police have booked Deepak Sharma on the complaint of Baldev Singh who belongs to a Muktsar village.
Baldev Singh alleged that he wanted to send her daughter for studies abroad and the agent duped him to the tune of Rs 16 lakh.
The second case has been registered on the complaint of a girl student who has alleged that she has been cheated for Rs 6.45 lakh by Deepak and her wife shikha Sharma, both then residents of old cantt road Faridkot.
The police have booked the agent under section 420(cheating) and 120 B(criminal conspiracy) the IPC and section 13 of travel agents act has also been added to the second case.
The complainants had moved their complaints to the SSP Faridkot and cases have been registered after thorough investigation by the DSP rank officers.
