SHAHKOT
The Shahkot police have arrested two persons on the charges of selling and brewing illicit country-made liquor.
Station House Officer (SHO) Jswinder Singh said that the accused have been identified as Banti a resident of Mohalla Baghwala Shahkot and Sarabjit Singh a resident of Dane Wal village
SHO said that 21 bottles of hooch and 100 litters Lahann(raw liquor) utensils for brewing and storing lahann were recovered from the accused.
SHO said the police also booked Sambhu of Mohalla Bagh Wala for selling hooch and recovered from him 70 bottles who managed to flee.
Cases under sections 61/1/14 of the Excise Act have been registered against the accused.
