The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a villager on the charges of firing, attempting to murder, and criminal conspiracy.
Investigating officer(IO) Tirath Ram said that the accused has been Sandeep Kumar alias Dilli son of Ravinder Kumar a resident of Rasul Pur Kalan village.
Sharan Deep a resident of Nawan Pind village under Sadar Kapurthala police station had complained to the police that he along with his companions were going to Seham village on August 27 late evening when the accused armed with firearms and sharp-edged weapons attacked them with the intention to kill and seriously injured them.
IO said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons) 341(wrong full restraint) 506(criminal; intimidation) 148 and 149(rioting) and 120-B(criminal conspiracy ) of the IPC and sections 25/27 of the Arms Act was registered against the accused and section 201(causing disappearance of evidence of offense, ) has been added in the FIR.
