The Bilga police have booked five Bilga residents on the charge of murdering a co-villager.
Station House Officer (SHO) Mohinder Pal said that the accused have been identified as Chandan Kumar alias Chandi son of Amarjit Jiti, Gurpreet Gopi son of Kamaljit residents of Pati Bhati, Bilga village, Jaskaran Singh alias Bobi alias Dadu son of Amir Chand Lali of Pati Bagga, Sajan Ghai son of Parshotam Lal Husna of Pati Bagga and Sahil Shaili son of Parshotam Lal of Pati Bagga Bilga village.
SHO said that the accused murdered Jagdeep Singh alias Jaggi son of Charan Singh a resident of Pati Bagga Bilga village on October 22 night.
Mohinder Kaur mother of the deceased complained to the police that the accused murdered her son Jaggi by thrashing him in the cremation ground of Pati Bagga.
She said in her complaint that the accused came to her house on October 19 and threatened to kill his son if he did not behave properly.
SHO said that a case under sections 302(murder) 506(criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused and raids are being conducted to nab them.
