NAKODAR
A Punjab Home Guard Jawan posted at Nakodar city police station died on Sunday after being bitten by a snake.
Investigating officer (IO) Hand Raj said that the deceased has been identified as Parshotam Singh son of Harbans Singh a resident of Mohalla Kamal Pura Nakodar.
Simarjit Singh son of the deceased told the police that his father was on duty when a deadly snake bit him. He was rushed to Nakodar Hospital where the doctor declared him as brought dead.
IO said that the police working under section 174 of the CR.P.C. handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem.
