The Lambarra police of the Jalandhar (rural) police have arrested an accused on the charge of murdering his father, mother, and brother.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukhtiar Singh Bhullar said that the accused has been identified as Harpreet Sigh son of Jagbir Singh a resident of house no175 Tower Enclave, Wadala.
SSP said that the accused shot dead his father Jagbir Singh, mother Amarit Pal Kaur, and his brother Gagandeep Singh on Thursday evening.
Bhullar said that the accused told the police during interrogation that his father was not ready to transfer property to him which infuriated him, and he shot dead three members of his family and set afire his house after committing the crime and went to a mall to watch a movie.
Station House Officer of Lambarra police station Aman Sanni said that a case under sections 302(murder)and 506(criminal intimidation ) of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused and recovered a double barrel gun, a riffle (22 bore ) form his possession and three empty cartridges from the spot.
