The Bilga police have booked five persons on the charge of assaulting a woman.
Investigating Officer (IO)Anwar Masih said that the accused have been identified as Sharan Preet Singh alias Sunni a resident of Badayal village under Sadar Kapurthala police station, Rama a resident of Bath village under Nurmahal police station, and their three unidentified accomplices.
Balwinder Kaur daughter of Joga Singh a resident of Pati Bhalayee, Bilga village complained to the police that the accused barged into her house ransacked house, and threatened her with dire consequences.
IO said a case under sections 452(house trespass) 506(criminal intimidation) and 427(mischief) 148 and 149(rioting ) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
