The Lohian Khas police have nine persons on the charge of assaulting a man.
Investigating officer (IO) Iqbal Singh said the accused have been identified as Rohit, Karan resident of ward no.2, Sunni, Major, Gola, and Kaka residents of ward no.1, and their three unidentified accomplices.
Jarnail, a resident of ward no 2 complained to the police that the accused barged into his house on October 6 evening and assaulted him and his brother and threatened him with dire consequences.
IO said a case under sections 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 452 (house trespass) 506(criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149 (rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
