Kotkapura MLA and Speaker Punjab assembly, Kultar Singh Sandhwan on friday dissolved the local truck operators union after the commission agents alleged harassment at the hands of the truckers.
The truck union and commission agents/rice millers were at odds after some men from the union allegedly forced 5 vehicles to the truck union from the local grain market some days back.
The police had booked 7 persons in this regard.
The next day, the truckers had blocked state highways for about 5 hours.
Now, the traders can hire transport vehicles from wherever they want. Dissolution of the truck union has also opened the doors for tractor trolleys to transport paddy to the rice mills.
Using unparliamentary language, Sandhwan said that no Haramzada(basard) would be allowed to disturb the traders announcing the dissolution of the union yesterday.
"There could be differences on some issues, but no gundagardi will be tolerated and union stands issolved," he said addressing the gathering of the local traders at new grain market Kotkapura.
He pulled up the police officials for letting it happen and alleged registration of cases against traders.
