The Punjab Chief minister Office (CMO) directed the Financial Commissioner Revenue (FCR) on July 31 to take action to break the deadlock between its revenue department and postal authorities over the sale of revenue stamps of the denomination of Re 1 through the post offices.
but it continues.

Dilbag Singh, a resident of Baina Pur village and social activist, has emailed CMO a new report titled “Revenue stamps deadlock continues even after 18 years”.
The news report has said that Post offices across Punjab had stopped selling revenue stamps in, February 2005, demanding that their commission be hiked from 3 percent to 6 percent. However, the Revenue Department refused to accept it. the demand and wrote to the Centre to intervene but to no avail.
It said that the state government is selling revenue stamps through its treasury offices at the sub-divisional level. It has also authorized stamp vendors to sell revenue stamps.
However, the residents of far-flung and remote villages complain that they must spend more money and time to buy these stamps.
The stamp vendors, too, are reluctant to sell these stamps as they receive a small commission.
Some people are selling these stamps in the black.

Dilbag Singh said that he has not received any response yet from the FCR Office and office of the Superintendent follow-up section of CMO.
