The Bilga police have booked a villager on the charges of theft and assault.
Investigating Officer (IO) Avtar Lal said that the accused has been identified as Bahadar Ali alias Sunni son of Pappu a resident of Gumtala village.
Lucki a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused tried to steal a gas cylinder from the rooftop of his house on October 10 very early morning. When he attempted to stop the accused from stealing, he attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon and injured him.
IO said a case under sections 324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means) 380(theft in dwelling house) 457(lurking house-trespass) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offenses punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment, ) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.
