Local Bodies Minister Balkar Singh on Saturday asked the officers to complete the ongoing developmental projects within the stipulated time period to facilitate the people.
The Minister held a meeting at his residence with officers of the Municipal Corporation, Public Works Department, Punjab State Power Corporation, Education, Mandi Board, and others. He asked them to expedite the completion of ongoing development projects. He said that these development projects must be executed in a planned manner for the welfare of the people.
The Minister unequivocally told the officers that they are duty-bound to ensure transparency and result result-oriented approach while carrying out the projects. He said that this was the need of the hour so that the people of the district would benefit from it. Batting for optimum utilization of government funds, Singh said that it would ensure that money was spent in the right direction.
Singh said that he would regularly monitor the execution of development projects. He cautioned the officers that any sort of laxity in the execution of these projects would not be tolerated at any cost. He said that the Punjab government was committed to ensuring judicious use of every single penny of taxpayers' money.
