The Lohian Khas police have booked three members of the in-law family for dowry harassment.
Investigating officer (IO) Iqbal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Harmeet Singh a resident of Guru Nanak colony Lohian Khas, his father Balbir Singh, and his mother Baljit Kaur.
Rajvir Kaur daughter of Gurcharan Singh a resident of Warra Jodh Singh village complained to the police that she was being harassed for dowry even since her marriage.
She said that the in-law agreed to return her dowry item but did not fulfill an agreement.
IO said that a case under section 406 (breach of trust) and 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry and further investigations are on.
