The Jalandhar(rural) on Monday solved the murder mystery of three minor girls within hours who were found dead in their house in Kahan Pur village under Maqsudan police station.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar told media persons that the accused has been identified as Sushil Mandal and his wife Manju Ranni migrants living in Kahan Pur village.
Surinder Singh, a resident of Kahan Pur village has complained on helpline number 112 in connection with the disappearance of three minor daughters of Sushil Mandal living in his house on rent.
SSP said that Station House Officer (SHO) Sikandar Singh reached the spot but could not find the missing children and on Monday morning again visited the place where the accused had kept a box in front of his house and told the police that his daughters were in the box.
SSP said that when the trunk was opened three girls were found inside dead and froth was coming out from the mouths of children.
Bhullar said that this made the police suspicious and when asked about this the accused Sushil told the police that his daughters might have entered the box while playing and died due to suffocation.
SSP said that the police strictly questioned the accused who was inebriated and consumed liquor at night and confessed his crime.
The accused told the police that he had mixed poison in milk last night and given it to three daughters who became unconscious after taking the milk, putting them into the box, and leaving the house.
The accused told the police that he enacted the drama of disappearance. And said that he was unable to feed them and decided to kill them.
SHO said that a case under sections 302(murder) 201(causing disappearance of evidence of offense, or giving false information to screen offender) and 34 (committing a crime with common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused Sushil and his wife Manju Ranni and further investigations are on.
