The Shahkot police have arrested a Dharm Kot resident on the charges of stealing farmer’s transformers and selling intoxicant tablets.
Investigating officer (IO) Nirmal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Harpreet Singh son of Raj Singh a resident of ward no 7 Dharm Kot, Moga
Dilbag Singh a resident of Akbar Pur Kalan village complained to the police that the accused and his accomplice were stealing a transformer on September 23 evening and he and his fellow villagers chased them and caught one accused with his motorcycle and handed him over to the police.
IO said that a case under sections 379(theft) and 511() of the IPC and section 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused as160 intoxicant tablets were recovered from his motorcycle (PB-10-EK-7577) on which he was traveling.
IO said that his accomplice identified as Davinder Singh son of Mangal Singh a resident of Moga Road Dharm Kot had been nominated in the case who managed to flee.
