The Nakodar city police have arrested a truck driver on the charge of causing death by negligence.
Investigating officer (IO) Mandeep Singh said that the accused has been identified as Kulwinder Kumar son of Amarjit Singh a resident of Khuram Aanad Garh village Hoshiar Pur.
Mohamad Javed a resident of Tehsil Bazaar, Nakodar complained to the police that a truck driver crushed to death beneath its tires Tahir Khan of Tehsil Bazar who had fallen on the roadside while pillion riding his brother’s scooter on September 17.
IO said that a case under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 279(rash driving on a public road) of the IPC has been registered against the truck driver who was released on bail.
