The Nakodar city police have arrested a Shankar villager resident and booked his accomplice on the charge of snatching cash and a mobile phone from a woman.
Investigating officer (IO) Rannjit Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gagandeep alias Gagy son of Sarabjit Singh a resident of Pati Purewal Shankar village.
Jeet Singh a resident of Sher Pur Tyba village under Dharam Kot police station Moga d complained to the police that he was going to a Nakodar clinic on September 16 and his wife Mandeep Kaur was pillion riding his motorcycle when two motorcycle accused pushed their bike near Sianni Wal village gate and both fell and accused snatched his wife’s purse contains Rs 4700 and a smartphone.
He said that the public caught one accused who told his name was Gagi who managed to free himself and flee away.
IO said that a case under sections 379-B (snatching ) and 34 (committing the crime with common intention ) of the IPC had been registered against the accused and his accomplice identified as Gurpreet Singh son of Dilbag Singh a resident of Shankar village.
