SHAHKOT 

The Shahkot police have issued notice to Rehrrwan village smugglers to attach their properties worth Rs 40.3 crores.

 Jalandhar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) (Rural) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said in a press release that the Shahkot police have begun excises to attach properties under section 68(1) of the NDPS Act 1985 and have pasted notices on the gates of houses of smugglers.

 

The press release said that the Competent Authority under the NDPS Act has issued orders to attach the properties of drug smugglers of Rehrrwan village which had been acquired through illegal means.

SSP said that the names of Kulwant Singh alias Kanti son of Satnam Singh, Varinder Pal Singh son of Charanjit Singh, Sukhpreet Singh son of Swaran Singh, Jaswinder Singh son of Sucha Singh, Dilbag Singh alias Baga son of Satnam Singh, and, Swaran Singh son of Banta Singh all residents of Rehrrwan village figure in the list of smugglers whose properties situated at Rehrrwan village worth Rs. 40 crores 30 Lakhs have been frozen and revenue authorities have been asked to make relevant entries in land records.  

SSP said that the property of other smugglers in Shahkot areas would be frozen soon.
