8 booked from Mangalore,West Bengal and Bihar for cheating a Kotkapura resident of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of Jawa company dealership

The city police of Kotkapura of Faridkot district have booked 8 persons on the complaint of Vivek Garg son of Hargobind Rai, resident of Muktsar road Kotkapura who has alleged that the accused duped him of Rs 5 lakh which he had transferred in the names of accused for processing his online application to get dealership of Jawa company.
The case dates back to February 2021.
The complainant has stated to the police that he had searched for the dealership of a Jawa company online and came into contact with one accused who is the resident of Menglore.
According to the complainant, the accused asked him to pay the application processing fee Rs 1.25 lakh and again demanded another amount of Rs 3.75 lakh, which he transferred to him through a private bank.But later on, he learnt that it was a fraud and he had been cheated of about Rs 5 lakh from him.
The city police have registered a case against 7 accused by name, including three from Mangalore,3 from west Bengal and One from Bihar while one of the accused is yet to be identified.
They have been booked under section 420(cheating) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy)of IPC.
Jawa is a motorcycle manufacturers company.
