The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested four persons on the charges of firing, attempting to murder, and criminal conspiracy.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Dilawar Singh alias Dilbar son of Rakesh Kumar a resident of Singh Pur Dona village, Jaivi Varma son of Paramjit Singh a resident of Puran Pur village under Patara police station, and Gagan Kumar son of Rajinder Kumar a resident of Bolina Doaba village under Patara police station and Avinash police alias Ashu son Johanson a resident of Chite Aani village under Sadar Jamsher police.
Sharan Deep a resident of Nawan Pind village under Sadar Kapurthala police station had complained to the police that he along with his companions were going to Seham village on August 27 late evening when the accused armed with firearms and sharp-edged weapons attacked them with the intention to kill and seriously injured them.
DSP said a case under sections 307(attempt to murder) 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons) 341(wrong full restraint) 506(criminal; intimidation) 148 and 149(rioting) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and sections 25/27?54/59? of the Arms Act was registered against the accused and their nine other accomplices who are absconding.
Investigating Officer Jasbir Singh said a country-made pistol 12 bore and 2 live cartridges, a county-made Katta 315 bore, and a motorcycle (PB-008-BU-8561) were recovered from the possession of the accused
