The Nakodar Sadar police have booked unidentified persons on the charge of illegal sand mining.
Junior Engineer and mining officer Nakodar Sahil Ram complained to the police that unidentified persons were indulging in illegal sand mining at Dhadda Lehanna village using two JBC machines on September 8.
He said that one JCB machine was seized but its owner managed to flee, and the other JCB machine driver managed to flee with the machine.
Investigating Officer Major Singh said that a case under section 21 of the Punjab Mining and Minerals Act has been registered against the unidentified persons and impounded JCB machine.
