The Shahkot police have arrested a thief on the charge of stealing a scooter and other items from a house.
Investigating Officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi son of Balwinder Kumar a resident of Nangal Ambian village.
Navdeep Kaur, wife of Prabhdeep Singh, a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused barged into her house on September 3 night and stole a scooter (PB-08-DR-6799) and other iron items.
IO said that a case under sections 457(lurking house-trespass) and 380(theft in dwelling house) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and recovered from his possession stolen scooter.
