Two travel agents booked for duping villager of Rs13 Lakhs.

 

NURMAHAL

The Bilga police have booked two travel agents for allegedly duping a villager of Rs 13 lakhs on the pretext of sending him abroad.

Phillaur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Simaranjeet Singh and the investigating officer said that the accused have been identified as Balvir Singh son of Major Singh a resident of Poadharra village and Parlad Hussain son of Taj Deen a resident of Farwala village.

 

Joga Singh a resident of Mehsam Pur village complained to Jalandhar (rural) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) that he had paid Rs 13 lakhs to the accused for facilitating his migration abroad based on contract marriage. However, he was neither sent them abroad nor returned the money.

 

DSP said a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
