The Nakodar city police have booked five persons on the charge of stealing cash jewellery and other items from a house.
Station House Officer (SHO) Satpal Sidhu said that the accused have been identified as Labh Singh Laichi son of Gurdeep Singh of Jalandhar, Jatinder Singh alias Viki son of Sukhchain Singh of Lohian Khas, Hajara Singh son of Swaran Singh, Sukhdev Singh son of Swaran Singh, and Manjit Singh alias Ladda son of Kalayan Singh residents of Jalandhar localities.
Dajit Kaur wife of Puran Lal a resident of Pandori Khas village complained to the police the accused wearing Nihang Singh’s attire and with sharp-edged weapons barged into her house on August 1 late evening and stole Rs 13,000. cash, 5 grams of golden earrings, four bags of wheat, and a goat threatening her.
SHO said that a case under sections 454 (lurking house-trespass) and 380(theft in dwelling house) 506(criminal intimidation) and 148 and 149(rioting) of the IPC has been registered against the accused and recovered Rs 10,000 from their possession which was stolen, sharp-edged weapons and a Bolero ((MH-04-AW-9543) used in the crime. The accused were produced in a court which remanded them to police custody for one day
