The Punjab Government has suspended two senior IAS officers overseeing the work of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats in connection with the dissolution of panchayats.
The orders in this regard were issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Verma said Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari, IAS (1994) Principal Secretary, Water Supply & Sanitation and Financial Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayats and Gurpreet Singh Khaira, IAS (2009) Director, Rural Development and Panchayats and ex-officio Special Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayats and Mission Director, Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) are placed under suspension with immediate effect, in terms of provisions of Rule 3 (1) of The All India Services.
