The Nakodar City police on Wednesday booked a Canda-based NRI and native of Nakodar on the charge of murdering his father.
Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukhpal Singh said that the accused has been identified as Satinder Singh alias Chhinda son of Harjit Singh a resident of Pure Wal Colony Nakodar
Sukhwinder Kaur wife of the deceased told the police that her son attacked his father Harjit Singh (64) on Tuesday and seriously injured him who succumbed to his injuries in a Ludhiana hospital on Wednesday.
The mother of the accused said that her son had come from abroad five months ago and a family dispute is believed to be the reason behind the attack on Harjit Singh who was all alone in his house as she had gone to her relatives. She said her son was mentally upset due to his family problems.
DSP said a case under section 302(murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused who is absconding, and raids are being conducted to nab him.
