The Shahkot police have arrested an accomplice of the arrested rape accused on the charges of criminal conspiracy and helping the accused in committing the crime.
Investigating Officer (IO) Balvir Chand said that the accused has been identified as Pawan Kumar son of Mangat Ram a resident of Sanda village an accomplice of Amninder Singh son of Sukhdev Raj a resident of Bhadma village. Who was registered on July 25
IO said that a case under sections 376(rape) 315( act done with intent to prevent a child being born alive),316 ( causing the death of a quick unborn child by act amounting to culpable homicide),420(cheating), and 120-B(criminal conspiracy of the IPC and sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act were registered against the accused on July 25, 2023, and third accused in this case identified as Salim a resident of Bhadma village is still absconding.
IO said a Breza car (PB-67-6144) used in the crime had been recovered from his possession which was used in the crime.
