A 40-year-old Ludhiana village resident died after drowning in water.
Investigating officer (IO) Buta Ram said that the deceased has been identified as Surjit Singh alias Pappu son of Balwant Singh a resident of Bhundarri village in Ludhiana.
Saroj Ranni wife of the deceased told the police that her husband died after drowning in water.
IO said that the police acting under section 174 of the Cr.P.C. handed over the body after post-mortem.
