Three villagers booked for defaming AAP leader.

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sadar police have booked three villagers on the charges of defaming an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader.

Station House Officer(SHO) and investigating officer Inspector G.S, Nagra said that the accused have been identified as Pardeep Singh son of Gurmail Singh, Nachhtar Singh son of Jeet Singh, and Parminder Singh Johal son of Surinder Singh all residents of Tahli village.

Darshan Singh Tahli a resident of Tahli village and an APP lender complained to the police that the accused with common intention to erode his social image, insult and defame him posted a video on social media and made it viral which alleged that Tahli was pressuring police to register false cases against his opponents, indulging in hooliganism publicly and encouraging open sale of drugs in village and areas.

 

SHO said that a case under sections 500(punishment for defamation) and 34(committing the crime with common intention criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 66 of the Information Technology Act has been registered against the accused.
