Kingpin of cow slaughter factory arrested from Meerut

The Jalandhar (rural) police have arrested the kingpin of a cow smuggling factory from the Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh who was on the run for nearly 20 days. It was busted on August 7, 2023, in Dhogri village.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said in a statement that the accused has been identified as Imran Qureshi of Shastri Nagar, Meerut. He had signed a rent deed for the factory with the fake name Shivam Rajput.
In a press release, SSP said that on August 7, police had raided a Toka factory in Dhogri village on the complaint of Satish Kumar from Patiala and arrested 17 people in the cases besides recovering 405 packets (20 kg each) total 8,100 kg beef from the premises of the factory. The cops had also seized electronic weighing scales, polyethylene, meat cutter knives, etc.

 SSP said a case was registered under Sections 295-A, 153-A, 428, 429, and 120-B. 465, 468, and 471 of the IPC and Sections 5 and 8 of the Punjab Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, 1955, against the accused at the Adampur police station on August 7.
