NAKODAR
The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a villager on the charge of using derogatory remarks against the Valmiki community in a video posted on social media.
Station House Officer (SHO)Gurinder Jeet Singh Nagra said that the accused has been identified as Paramjit Singh Hundal son of Karam Singh a resident of Eeda village and presently living in Italy.
Amarjit Singh a resident of the same village police that the accused posted a live video on social media on July 30 nine which used derogatory remarks against the Valmiki community and thus hurt their sentiments.
SHO said that a case under section 3(I) R- of the SC/ST Act has been registered against the accused.
