In a daylight act of snatching two unidentified motorcycle-borne accused on Tuesday snatched gold earrings from a woman on Nakodar Shankar road.
Gurdeep Singh son of Gurdev Singh told the police that a couple riding on a bike was going to Shankar village from Sar Pura village when two unidentified accused attacked the couple with a sharp-edged and weapon snatched earrings from the woman and both fell down on the road and were seriously injured and rushed to Shankar civil hospital.
The investigating officer and Shankar police post in charge Lovleen Kumar said that the victim woman had been transferred to Nakodar Civil Hospital where the doctor declared her not fit for recording her statement.
IO said that a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt ) 307 (attempt to murder) and 379-B(snatching ) of the IPC has been registered on a statement from Gurmail Singh a resident of Dherain village and husband of the victim Kulwinder Kaur
This daylight act of snatching has created a sense of fear and insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police functioning.
