To take stock of the relief and rescue measures going on at the grassroots level, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal on Wednesday carried out a tour of flood-affected villages falling in Lohian Khas and distributed dry ration kits and tarpaulins.
Sarangal who visited Mundian Shehrian, Mundia Cholian, Mandala Channa and adjoining areas, took stock of the condition at the ground level and claimed that the district administration was making every effort to minimize the loss of people.
The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the people and said that a revenue survey was already underway to ascertain the loss of crops, houses, animals, and others due to heavy rainfall in the state. He said that the State Government was committed to safeguarding the interests of people against nature’s fury.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the SDM Shahkot Rishabh Bansal to ensure the availability of a boat in Mundian Shehrian village. He said that people should not panic as the administration is here to serve them by keeping a regular tab on the situation. He also appealed to the people to not worry about anything as the administration is already making concerted efforts to serve them.
