The Nakodar Sadar police have arrested a person on the charge of outraging the modesty of a woman.
Investigating officer (IO)) and in charge, Shankar police post-Lovleen Kumar said that the accused has been identified as Navjot Singh son of Balvir Singh a resident of Patti Pure Wal, Shankar village.
The victim complained to the police that the accused barged into her house touched her body inappropriately attacked her with a knife and stole Rs 10,000 from her purse.
IO said that a case under sections 354(assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty.) ,323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons or means)380(theft in dwelling house), and 458(wrongful confinement to extort confession,) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
