Lok Sabha MP from Jalandhar Mr Sushil Kumar Rinku today envisioned that new Railway stations at Jalandhar Cantt and Phillaur will further give impetus to over economic development of Jalandhar district.
In his address during the virtual kick-off of the work of new Railway stations at Jalandhar Cantt and Phillaur by Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, Mr Rinku said that this is a historic occasion as it will prove a milestone in the development of the region. He said that with the multifaceted development of Jalandhar district a second Railway station in the vicinity of the city with ultra-modern facilities was the need of the hour.
He said that this was the need of the hour to give a fillip to the holistic development of the entire region. He said that this would facilitate the people in a big way by providing state-of-the-art travel facilities to people thereby saving their time, money, and energy. He said that apart from this it will also boost economic activity in the Jalandhar district.
He said that the new upcoming station has been aesthetically designed while keeping in view the needs of the common man. He said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction for him that two Railway stations of Jalandhar district including Phillaur and Jalandhar Cantt have been covered under the ambitious project. He said that while Cantt Railway station will be given a facelift at a cost of Rs 98 crore, the Phillaur Railway station will be spruced up at a cost of Rs 24 crore.
